2 Guys, 3 Sandals

Guillermo, cello, and Roldán, violin, went down to the river yesterday evening for a swim. We had all learned from previous trips to the banks of the river that the rocky bed wasn't very comfortable to walk on barefoot so the dynamic duo decided to wear their flip flops into the river with them. Guillermo's sandals have a slippery lining on the inside and he was worried that they might fall off in the water. So, he asked Roldán if he could borrow one of his.

Picture two guys in their bathing trunks hopping on one foot into the water. Right.

For a while the two had a pleasant time swimming until Guillermo went a little too far away from the bank and got caught up in the current. Immediately the one flip flop he was wearing was pulled from his foot and disappeared into the rather murky, grey-green water. The rocks weren't as sharp as they were expecting, luckily, but Guillermo still felt terrible about the whole thing. On the way home he lent Roldán his sandals while he stumbled along with the one that wasn't lost.

In other news, the first photos of the 2013 group are out and can be found on the EUBO fb page. The day we took them was incredibly hot and with the addition of our concert clothing we weren't all smiles for too long. Fortunately, we were only out in the sun for about an hour.

Tomorrow will be our last day of rehearsals in Echternach and we are just about ready to take our first program on the road. We performed our first 'general rehearsal' this morning and, after a bit of detail work, we will perform under the cover of the town hall tomorrow afternoon. By Wednesday midmorning we'll be underway to Barcelona, and from there to Puigcerdà.

Stay Tuned.
